How do we work ?

In our packet, you’ll travel all by yourself. Sap Holidays will take care of you. We’ll reserve all your hotels and transport. When you arrive in Peru you’ll find in your first hotel an envelope with all the vouchers for hotels, buses and excursions. You’ll do the excursions in International groups with English speaking guides.

Our local agent also arranges your transfers and gives you the bus tickets to go from A to B, like this, you’ll travel around by yourself but without worries, all arranged through Sap Holidays. If there are any problems, you can always find support by contacting our office in Cusco or Lima!

Lima You’ll arrive at Lima airport in the morning. Someone from Southamerica planet will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your first hotel in Lima, Miraflores. First day in Lima.( if you arrive in the evening, its 1 more day and night in Lima). included

Day 2 :

Lima First day in Lima. Today you have a half day city tour in Lima. The tour begins with a visit to historic downtown Lima, also known as “the City of the Kings”. Stops include the Main Square of Lima, upon which sits the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the City Hall, next on the itinerary is a visit to the Santo Domingo Convent. You also drive thru Miraflores and san isidro. In the afternoon you can visit by yourself Colonial Barranco, museo national de Arqueologia, in pueblo libre or larco museo” the best museum in Peru”. Or walk at the seafront in Miraflores. The city tour is with an English speaking guide, it takes 3 h in private. The tour start and finish in your hotel. After he city tour you have private car to Paracas for 4 Hours drive. Included

Day 3 :

Paracas You can walk on the boulevard and eat the delicious fresh fish. Around 8 am Pick up and drive to the harbor, to take the speedboat to the Ballestas islands. Ballestas is known for its extraordinary marine wild life and wonderful natural setting. Enjoy a boat tour, lasting approximately 2 hours, around the Ballestas Islands, where you can observe countless species, including the world’s largest sea lion colony. You can also view seals, penguins, turtles, albatrosses, pelicans, and seagulls. With many sea lions and birds. After this tour you vistit the Paracas reserve. Your hotel have a nice swimming pool. Day 4 :

Ballestas / Nasca Today after breakfast 11.30 Am we have private car to Nasca. This ride takes about 3 h. Along the way we can visit a Pisco Brewery and Huacachina. This tiny village is home to less than 1,000 local people, but every day fresh influxes of backpackers arrive to do one of THE must-do activities in Peru…sand boarding down the famous Huacachina dunes) dune buggies, flying over large humps in what seems to be a never-ending desert of sand.Hotel with swimming pool in Nazca. Day 5 :

Nazca and Nazca lines After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel for your journey to the mysterious Nazca Lines! You’ll board a small aircraft. During your adventure, you’ll see first hand several famous line figures, including the spider, monkey, astronaut, flamingo, parrot & condor among many others. Why were these figures created? Do they have an astrological or religious purposes? At 1 Pm you wil have transfer to the busterminal. Where you have the luxury day bus to Arequipa. The ride takes 10 h in luxury bus. Included

Day 6 :

Arequipa Arequipa is Peru’s second largest city with a population of over 800,000 people and arguably the most beautiful city in Peru. Situated about 2,335 metres above sea level in the shadows of the stunning ice capped Misti Volcano (5,822 metres). The perfect place to acclimatize to altitude before your tours in the Colca Valley. We will show you all its charms of the main streets and colonial buildings, where you will visit The Main Square, The Cathedral from outside, La Compañia a Jesuit’s church and religious cloisters, Santa Catalina convent – which is a city within the city – built on the XVI century and closed to the public for almost 400 years until 1970, and it’s still home of a few nuns. The tour continues to the Church and Square of San Francisco and the local market. The highlight of Arequipa is the 16th century Santa Catalina Convent. This beautiful complex of plazas and buildings is remarkably intact and remained closed to the outside world until 1970. You’ll also get to visit the star of Arequipa “The Mummy Juanita “. In the evening you may choose to dine at one of Arequipa’s many fine restaurants. Try the amazing alpaca steak!The white city and its famous historic downtown. Visit the Plaza de Armas, the Church of the Company and the Church of San Francisco. The highlight of Arequipa is the 16th century Santa Catalina Convent. Day 7 :

Colca 2 days After breakfast you’ll be picked up for your journey to the Colca Canyon. It’s a scenic route 165 km from the city of Arequipa. You’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Misti, Chachani and PichuPichu volcanoes as you climb to the Canahuas National Reserve. Along the way, you will pass through Pampas Cañahuas, a plain in the midst of the Aguada Blanca y Salinas National Reserve. Along the way you’ll stop at 3800m to drink some coca tea to counteract the effects of altitude sickness. As you climb yet further up onto the Altiplano you’ll begin to spot wild vicunas, llamas and guanacos as well as some interesting birdlife on the lakes. After reaching the highest point at about 4800m you’ll descend a little to the town of Chivay. The Colca Canyon is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, although its incline is much more gradual. Here we stop for lunch. after we bring our luggage to the hotel and in the afternoon we go to the nearby hot-springs, la calera. 1 night hotel in colca canyon in private tour. Included

Day 8 :

Colca – Puno This morning you will have an early breakfast at your hotel and set out to the Cruz del Condor look-out point, 60 Km from Chivay, for spectacular views across the canyon. We are looking for the world’s largest bird, the majestic Andean condor, gliding on the thermals that rise up through the canyon. Be sure to bring your camera. On the return to Chivay you’ll make various stops, firstly at the traditional town of Pinchollo with its 1500 year old stone terraces, and later at the Choqetico view point and the Andean town of Maca. From chivay the guide leave back to arequipa and you continue in private transport for a 6 hours journey to Puno over the altiplano. Accommodations for the night in Puno. Included

Day 9 :

Titicaca Today you will visit the incredible Lake Titicaca. Situated some 3800m above sea level and covering an area of over 8000 square kilometres. You’ll begin your tour by visiting the fascinating Uros islands, home to the descendants of the pre-Inca Urus people, who continue to live on the floating islands, which are constructed using the totoro reeds which grow around the lake. It is said that, when seen from above, the lake looks like a Puma hunting a rabbit. Uros is comprised of about 40 islands, but the total number varies over time. Than we go to Taquile Island. Another beautiful destination. The island still bears vestiges of a pre-Incan past. The are Ayamara Indians. The intricate and brightly-colored textiles produced here reflect the inhabitants’ Andean beliefs, myths, and ways of life. After a short but steep climb to the main village you’ll enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the island and finding out about its people. The islanders are known for the beautiful textiles and garments that they produce, and interestingly the knitting of these garments is done exclusively by men. Boat back to Puno. Included

Day 10 :

Cusco After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the busstation for your journey to Cusco. During this journey you will enjoy stunning views of beautiful landscapes of the the Andes. We take the bus with stops/ guide and lunch included. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be welcomed by southamericaplanet. In the evening there are many excellent restaurants to choose from in Cusco. If this day there is a train, you can take this amazing train ride, andean explorer from Puno to Cusco Accommodations in Cuzco. Included

Day 11 :

Cusco Cusco, where you can do many things this day ,you can sleep some longer. Your afternoon Cusco tour will begin with a visit to the impressive colonial cathedral,home to finely carved wooden art pieces and impressive altars, followed by a guided tour of the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun). Later to the outskirts of Cusco for a tour of the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Incan fort that guarded the Imperial city. After this afternoon excursion you’ll be taken back to your hotel to relax for the evening. Accommodations in Cuzco. Included

Day 12 :

Sacred Valley Today we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is divided by the Urubamba River and protected by towering mountains, like Veronica, Chicon, and Pitusiray, all above 5000 meters. Your first stop is visiting the local market in a small village of Pisac. After lunch you’ll spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the impressive Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo town and ceremonial center, an important archeological site and an Inca stronghold during the Spanish conquest. We sleep in the sacred valley. Included:

Day 13 :

Maras + Moray + Aquas Cal After breakfast, you will be picked up for your next Sacred Valley adventure to Maras, a typical Peruvian Andean village near the Maras salt mines. It’s a scenic journey with spectacular views of the snowcapped mountains. You will visit the ruins of Moray, a series of ancient agricultural terraces laid out in concentric circles. These terraces were built by the Incas and used to test and produce seeds for the empire’s principal crops of maize and potato. The site and science of ancient Inca agriculture is inspiring. Later you will leave for Maras to watch the locals pan the salt mines. The tour last a half day. In the afternoon or evening we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, the village close to Machu Picchu, much warmer than Cusco. We are at the border of the jungle. Hotel / hostal in Agua Calientes. Day 14 :

Machu Picchu Today we will leave early on sunrise to the Machu Picchu ruins. You will start with a guided tour of the ruins for 2 h, in which you will learn all about the origins of this archeological wonder with some free time to explore on your own. Your return train through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to Cusco will depart in the afternoon and arrive in the evening. hotel in Cusco Early in the morning you will be transported by bus to Machu Picchu citadel, Our bilingual guide will take you throughout the vast ruins for about 2h. After this you have some free time to wander around yourself Machu Picchu is the best known of the Inca ruins, as it is recognized worldwide yet it is not mentioned in any of the writings of the Spanish Conquistadors. It believed to have been constructed around the mid-15th century and was “rediscovered” by American historian Hiram Bingham in 1911. The guided tour of this fascinating place is an inspiring experience. Visit the Main Square, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the Sacred Sun Dial and Burial Grounds. After the excursion you can walk to Inti Punko, the “SUN GATE” to take the famous picture. Than you drive down by bus to the town of Aqua Calientes where we take the afternoon train back direction Cusco. Included:
