To start with this activity we will pick you up at 9:00 am from your hotel in the city center, we will prepare your bicycle and we will go by private car to Cruzpata in the Chinchero district at 3600 Mt or 11,800 feet. Day 1: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu ( Wiñaywayna -Aqua caliente) 10 km
After breakfast, we will walk to the Ollantaytambo train station. The train will stop at km 104, and after 1 hour and a half, we will begin the walk along the Inca Trail, at an altitude of 2100 Mt. The trail begins by crossing the Willkamayu River over a bridge; also known as the Urubamba River. After having crossed the river, we visit the famous Inca site of Chachabamba .
After an introduction to the history Inca, empe zar e we have to walk along a path about 8 km. After 3 hours of walking, we arrive at the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2650 m). Winaywayna is also known as the second most impressive archaeological site after Machu Picchu. This fantastic place is a perfect example of Inca terraced agriculture. The name Wiñaywayna means “forever young”.
After walking through this beautiful place, we continue the walk through the tropical jungle, through a narrow path, until we reach Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol). At this point, you can enjoy a great view of the most impressive place: Machu Picchu. After a break, we will continue by bus to Aguas Calientes to spend to night. Tonight you will have the opportunity to visit and relax in the hot springs found in the upper section of Aguas Calientes. Total distance 10 km.
Day 2: Visit Machu Picchu
We will take one of the first buses at 5.30 am to Machu Picchu. This trip will last about 25 minutes. Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, you will begin your 2-hour guided tour of this beautiful place. After finishing the guided tour, you will have plenty of free time to explore, tour, enjoy, and take photos yourself. Finishing the Tour in Machu Picchu, take e have the bus or you can walk to Aguas Calientes. Here, you can take the opportunity to have lunch (not included). In the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then continue by bus to Cusco.
